June 2008 Outings Schedule
All area codes are 775 unless otherwise noted.

Donations For Outings -Thanks for All Your Contributions!

The Great Basin Group's Outing Leaders are collecting $1 donations from all members on outings ($2 for non-members). These contributions will greatly help to enhance our Outings Program by providing leaders with more training opportunities, provide new first aid kits to all leaders, and help offset the cost of our bi-monthly Outings Meetings. Any extra funds may be used to help finance the cost of our Program Meetings at Bartley Ranch.
Our Outings Leaders provide a variety of outings in our effort to meet the needs our membership. They are all volunteers who endeavor to share their love and knowledge of the outdoors in the amazing country around us. Your donations will provide essential support to the Great Basin Group's Outing Program and will be greatly appreciated.

Sierra Club Great Basin Group Summer Mixer
Although the Group doesn't normally meet during the summmer, we thought we'd mix things up with a social event on Thursday, June 12. We'll start at 7pm (our usual time) but meet at a DIFFERENT place, the newly opened Buckbean Brewing Company (http://buckbeanbeer.com). They will be opening up this evening just for us. It will be a great opportunity to talk about the issues, get to know each other, and have fun. The Buckbean will also give us tours and samples of their beer. Since they don't serve food, the Great Basin Group will provide chips & salsa and a few additional appetizers (members have the option of bringing finger food if they like, but it's not essential). Be warned: They don't serve anything but their beer here. We'll have water and iced tea available for non-beer drinkers. Buckbean Brewing Company is located on East McCarran Blvd (just south of the intersection of S. Rock Blvd. and McCarran - on the west side of the road).
